About Mantachie

A quaint town with a vibrant park, historical landmarks, local school, and a community that ensures you feel right at home.  Mantachie was named for one of the Chickasaw Chiefs, Man-ta-chee, who was killed in a fight with another Chickasaw. 

Mantachie is a town in Itawamba County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,144 in the 2021 census. It is located 14 miles northeast of Tupelo at the intersection of Mississippi Highways 363 and 371 and 5 miles North of Interstate 22.
